Hello, and welcome to FLOWhacker.net a place where we look at and study the science of FLOW*. The goal of this blog is to further explore this concept and look at how we can harness it to apply these into our lives in and out of work. These studies are available to you to view free of charge and I welcome your comments on this.
We will also explore how organisations can help employees HACK flow, enabling them to operate at their optimal potential, thus providing a more enjoyable and productive experience in the work place. These studies will also be available (at a fee) for me to provide training materials on how we can tap into being super humans. Lectures on this will also be available – feel free to contact me here for more information.
Being an extreme sports enthusiast I’ve always loved putting myself into situations there I experienced FLOW, I didn’t know what I was doing at the time, but when I was there it was incredible. I specifically remember a couple of occasions in my life where I experienced flow to a high intensity. These usually involved certain things that were out of my control and were usually dependant on environment (surf, snow etc.).
After exploring this further what I have discovered is we can set ourselves up for FLOW and create environments and states that enable us to get into these states deliberately!
Can you imagine how much more awesome your life would be if you are in a constant state of FLOW?
As much as I would love to take credit for this idea, it’s not mine. Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi‘s brain child is FLOW; his studies in the space have been further explored by Steven Kotler in the RISE OF SUPERMAN and further still in his latest book STEALING FIRE… which I will constantly be referencing on this blog.
FLOW to me is that feeling we get when we are in a euphoric state and when we harness this energy we can do incredible things. Our mind is clear and more connected to our bodies than ever before. You will feel this in so many situations in your life, your work, relationships, doing things you love. What’s so awesome about this is that there is a process and system to this, that if you work it correctly you can TAP into this state to successfully complete doing things you hate.
There is literally nothing that we can’t do.
In the movie Limitless the main character played by Bradly Cooper has a brilliant line that describes FLOW:
“I wasn’t high, I wasn’t wired, I was just CLEAR.
I knew what I needed to do and how to do it.”
Together we explore how these studies can provide us with better lives,.
Together we can live in FLOW – and love life.
